William E. Wimmer

William E Wimmer William E Wimmer, age 83, a resident of Hale, Missouri, passed away on Saturday, February 16, 2013, at his home with his family by his side. William was born the son of Earl and Opal (Monson) Wimmer on June 1, 1929, in Hale, Missouri. He was a 1947 Chillicothe High School graduate, Chillicothe, Missouri. He was united in marriage to Aline Gironde on September 28, 1955, in France. She preceded him in death eleven weeks earlier on November 28, 2012. William served in the United States Air Force as a Staff Sargent during the Korean War where he was stationed for four years in St. Mihiel, France. He operated his own automotive repair shop in Hale, Missouri, in the late 50's and 60's. He also worked as a mechanic for Shull Chevrolet in Brunswick from 1970 to 1990, and as NAPA parts manager at MFA in Hale. Upon retirement he worked for Copeland Construction, Chillicothe, Missouri. William was a member of the Vern R Glick Post 25 of Chillicothe and the Disabled Veterans of America. Survivors include two daughters, Pat Potter and husband Frank of Carrollton, Missouri, and Cynthia Wimmer of Ashland, Missouri; two grandsons, Scott W. McBee of Kansas City, Missouri, and Travis A. McBee and wife Amanda of Kansas City, Missouri; one great grandson, Xander McBee, and one great granddaughter Juliana McBee due March 4, 2013. He was preceded in death by his parents, and wife Aline. Services will be held at Lindley Funeral Home, Hale, Missouri, on Tuesday, February 19, 2013, at 10:00 a.m. A family visitation will be held at Lindley Funeral Home, Hale, Missouri, on Monday, February 18, 2013 from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Friends may call the Lindley Funeral Home, Hale, Missouri, on Monday, February 18, 2013, from 12 noon until 9:00 p.m. Burial will be held at Hale Cemetery, Hale, Missouri. Memorial contributions may be made to Crossroads Hospice and may be left at or mailed to Lindley Funeral Home, P.O. Box 47, Chillicothe, Missouri 64601.
