William "Bill" Everett Stirling

William "Bill" Everett Stirling William "Bill" Everett Stirling, age 83, a resident of Chillicothe, Missouri, passed away on Sunday, May 15, 2016, at Hedrick Medical Center, Chillicothe, Missouri. Bill was born the son of Charles Everett and Ida (Bailey) Stirling on November 4, 1932, on the family farm near Bedford, Missouri. He attended Fairland grade school, Avalon High School, and Hale High School, graduating in 1950. He served in the United States Army during the Korean War from 1954 until 1956. Bill was united in marriage to Carolyn Sue Clarkson on June 1, 1958, at the Methodist Church, Avalon. They started their lives on a farm east of Avalon, moving to Chillicothe in 1988. She survives of the home. He farmed, worked at Donaldson's, and worked as a mechanic in Hale and Chillicothe, and worked for the Missouri Department of Conservation at their shop in Brookfield from 1985 until 1996. He was a founding member of the Full Gospel Community Church east of Avalon, Missouri, and was also a church board member. Bill was a House of Prayer Rescue Mission board member and was a former board member of the Avalon Cemetery. Survivors include his wife, Carolyn of the home; four children, Charles Stirling and wife Sherry of Hale, Missouri, Kathy Depew and husband Roland of Tulsa, Oklahoma, William Stirling, Jr. and wife Amy of Lee's Summit, Missouri, and Tammie Christopher and husband Ashton of Chillicothe, Missouri; twelve grandchildren, Julia, Deneille (Dallas), Megan (Luke), Matthew, Shelby (Mitchell), Kayla, Tyler, Haley, Sarah, Braden, Luke, and Bentley; three great grandchildren; Asher, Micah, and Graham; and two sisters, Alice Lutes of Tryon, Nebraska, and Geneva Connell and husband Dan of Tryon, Nebraska. He was preceded in death by his parents; and one brother-in-law, Keith Lutes. Funeral services will be held at the Lindley Funeral Home, Chillicothe, Missouri, on Thursday, May 19, 2016, at 10:00 a.m. A scheduled family visitation will be held at the Lindley Funeral Home, Chillicothe, Missouri, on Wednesday, May 18, 2016, from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Friends may call at the Lindley Funeral Home, Chillicothe, Missouri, on Wednesday, May 18, 2016, from 12 noon until 8:00 p.m. Burial will be held at Avalon Cemetery, Avalon, Missouri.
