William (Bill) Albert Ross
William (Bill) Albert Ross, age 87, a resident of Chillicothe, Missouri, passed away on Sunday, December 27, 2020, at the Harry S. Truman Memorial Veterans' Hospital, Columbia, Missouri.
William was born the son of Clyde and Lola (Colter) Ross on December 29, 1932, in Avalon, Missouri. He was a 1950 graduate of Avalon High School. William served in the United States Navy from 1950 until 1956. He was united in marriage to Ruth Haney on February 21, 1953, in Coahoma, Mississippi. She preceded him in death on June 22, 2006. William was then united in marriage to Ann McGuire on June 28, 2009, in Chillicothe, Missouri. She survives of the home. He worked as a farmer, at Donaldson Company, and a real estate agent for many years. William was a member of the Avalon Methodist Church, Avalon, Missouri, where he was a Sunday school teacher. He was also a member of the Tina-Avalon School Board, Chillicothe Elks Lodge #656, and the Chillicothe Fraternal Order of Eagles Aerie No. 2428. William loved traveling.
Survivors include his wife, Ann Ross of the home; four daughters, Janice Norris and husband Dale of Columbia, Missouri, Sandy Dana of Springfield, Missouri, Tammy Hutchins and husband Thomas of Clarksville, Tennessee, and Jill Stedem and husband Marty of Columbia, Missouri; one step son, Nick Palermo and wife Mary of Piper, Kansas; two step daughters, Tricia Wohletz and husband Dave of Kearney, Missouri, and Terri McGuire of Lee's Summit, Missouri; seven grandchildren; eight step grandchildren; six great grandchildren; four step great grandchildren; one great-great grandchild; and three sisters, June Brown of Chillicothe, Missouri, JoAnn Williams of Chillicothe, Missouri, and Gracie Jones of Dawn, Missouri. He was preceded in death by his parents; one son, Butch Ross; one grandson, Chris Dana; his first wife, Ruth; and three brothers-in-law, Dean Brown, Tommy Jones, and Larry Williams.
