William Paden

William "Bill" Paden, age 78, a resident of Chillicothe, Missouri, passed away on Monday, May 9, 2011, in North Kansas City, Missouri. He was born the son of William Carter and Bertha Henrietta (Hansen) Paden on September 5, 1932 in Sioux City, Iowa. He was a 1950 graduate from Benton High School in St. Joseph, Missouri. On May 28, 1954, he was married to Bertha Virginia Anthony in St. Joseph, Missouri. She preceded him in death on June 30, 2010. He worked for over 50 years as a cattle order buyer beginning with Hayes Cattle Company, the Tina Livestock Auction, later he was self employed as a cattle buyer, and also worked with New Cambria Livestock. Bill was well known throughout the cattle industry. He served as a member of the United States Army during the Korean War. He loved spending his time buying cattle, fishing, and spending time with his wife, children, grandchildren, and dog Mollie. In 2002 he moved to Chillicothe, Missouri from Tina, Missouri. Survivors include two sons, Steve Paden and wife Gaylen of Norfolk, Virginia, and Robert Williams and wife Beverly of Altamont, Missouri; two daughters, Christina Gray and husband Bill of Chillicothe, Missouri, and Cindy Hind and husband Chuck of Chillicothe, Missouri; one daughter-in-law Janet Paden Shatto of Bosworth, Missouri; one sister, Sally Carroll and husband Warren of Knott's Island, North Carolina; thirteen grandchildren, sixteen great grandchildren, several nieces and nephews, and several great nieces and nephews.
