William "Mac" McKenzie, age 92, a resident of Chillicothe, Missouri, passed away on Saturday, May 7, 2011 in Chillicothe, Missouri. Mac was born on November 3, 1918, the son of William E. and Clara A. (Couch) McKenzie in Linn County. He was a 1936 graduate from Linneus High School. On February 14, 1946, he was united in marriage to Alta June Brewer in Chillicothe, Missouri. Mac also served in the United States Air Corp during World War II in the 20th Air Depot Group. He worked as a mechanic and driver for Dean Machinery for 37 years before retiring in 1981. Mac was a member of the Vern R. Glick American Legion Post #25, VFW 858 Roy L. Burkett Post, and was a member of the First Baptist Church in Chillicothe. Survivors include his wife June McKenzie of the home; one son, Jerry and wife Irene Bryant McKenzie of Meadville, Missouri; one daughter, Dixie and husband Jerry Kerby of Springfield, Ohio; one brother, Lowell and wife Edna McKenzie of Linneus, Missouri; four grandchildren, Amy and husband Jason Gipson of Columbia, Missouri, Amber and husband Brian Reymond of Galipolie, Ohio, Nathan McKenzie of Hollister, Missouri, and Matthew McKenzie of Norfolk, Virginia; and six great-grandchildren, Madison and Skyler Gipson of Columbia, Missouri, Alison Lockhart and Christina Howell of Galipolie, Ohio, and Katie and Kyle McKenzie of Yorktown, Virginia. He was preceded in death by his parents; two brother - in- laws, Jack and Oliver Brewer, and one sister-in-law, Bonnie Shaw.
