William Lester Israel

William Lester Israel William Lester Israel, Ypsilanti, MI age 92, passed away Monday, April 28, 2014, at his residence following a short illness. He was born February 17, 1922 in Avalon, MO, the son of David L and Birdie (Scott) Israel. Mr Israel served honorably in the U.S. Army during WWII and was a Pearl Harbor survivor. He was employed by Ford Motor Company, Ypsilanti plant, retiring in 1986. He enjoyed flea markets and antiquing. Survivors include granddaughter Cathy (Mike) Cook, great granddaughters Stacy and Melissa, great-granddaughter Jacqueline, and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his wife, Mary; daughter, Wanda Gardener and granddaughter, Jackie De Palma. Cremation has taken place, Interment will be held at the Wheeling Cemetery, Wheeling, Missouri, on Saturday, May 24, 2014, at 11:00 a.m. Online condolences may be left at www.lindleyfuneralhome.com .
