William "Bill" F. Houston William "Bill" F. Houston, age 87, a former resident of Chillicothe, Missouri, passed away on Thursday, November 24, 2011 at Life Care Center of Carrollton, Carrollton, Missouri. William was born the son of Marion D. and Frances (Woodyard) Houston on December 20, 1923 in Sugar City, Colorado. He was a 1940 graduate of Lemons High School. He was united in marriage to Anna Bowman on March 13, 1943 in Unionville, Missouri. She preceded him in death on July 18, 2010. He served in the United States Army during World War II, and was a P.O.W. in Germany. William worked as a clerk for the United States Postal Service. He was a member of the St. Vincent's De Paul Catholic Church of Kansas City, Missouri, the Vern R. Glick American Legion Post #25, Chillicothe IOOF Lodge #91, P.O.W. Group, and the Chillicothe VFW Roy L. Burkett #858. Survivors include two daughters, Dorothy Thrasher and husband Joseph of Blue Springs, Missouri, Deana Carr and husband Tom of Chillicothe, Missouri; thirteen grandchildren, Kirk Houston of Kirksville, Missouri, Carla Tucker of Sedro Wooley, Washington, Kim Houston of Hallsville, Missouri, Chris Houston of Newtown, Missouri, Jeanie Coin of Newtown, Missouri, Rebecca Licon of San Antonio, Texas, Robert Springston, Jr. of Chillicothe, Missouri, Frank Springston of Nashville, Tennessee, Grace Atchison of Milledgeville, Georgia, Cheryl Stephens of Renton, Washington, Karen McCune of Salaris, California, Shane Houston of Aimes, Iowa, Shawn Houston of Aimes, Iowa; twenty one great grandchildren; four great, great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents; wife Anna; one son, Marion Houston. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Columban's Catholic Church, Chillicothe, Missouri, on Monday, November 28, 2011 at 10:00 a.m. A Parish Rosary will be held at the Lindley Funeral Home, Chillicothe, Missouri on Sunday, November 27, 2011 at 4:00 p.m. with a visitation to follow until 6:00 p.m. Friends may call the Lindley Funeral Home, Chillicothe, Missouri on Sunday, November 27, 2011 from 10:00 a.m. until 8:00 p.m. Interment will be held at Dickson Cemetery in Unionville, Missouri.
