William Delvin Gardner, Sr. William Delvin Gardner, Sr., age 81, a resident of Wheeling, Missouri, passed away on Sunday, July 17, 2016, at his residence. William was born the son of Claude and Pearle (Morse) Gardner on October 14, 1934, in Trenton, Missouri. He was united in marriage to Theresa Ford on December 18, 1960, in Santa Barbara, California, she survives of the home. William was a member of the United States Marine Corp during the Korean War. He was a heavy equipment operator for West Coast Trenching and Bill Rouse Trenching. William was a member of the Roy L. Burkett VFW Post 858, Vern R. Glick American Legion Post 25, and Operating Engineers of Pasadena, California. He loved eating out and going to the casino. Survivors also include: sons, Rick Douglas Gardner and wife Dana of Braymer, Missouri, Michael Lawrence Gardner and wife Laura of Ludlow, Missouri, and William Dean Gardner, Jr. of Wheeling, Missouri; daughter, Trina Gardner and husband John Hughes of Chillicothe, Missouri; seven grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; sisters, Linda Griffin of Jamesport, Missouri, and Carolyn Mendez of Henderson, Nevada. He was preceded in death by: his parents; sisters, Viola Knouse, Geraldine Marolf, Claudine Kline, and Dorothy Booth. A graveside service will be held at Resthaven Memorial Gardens, Chillicothe, on Wednesday, July 20, 2016 at 10:30 a.m. A scheduled family visitation will be held at the Lindley Funeral Home, Chillicothe, Missouri, on Wednesday, July 20, 2016, from 9:30 a.m. until service time.
