William Larry Brown
William Larry Brown, age 83, a resident of Kansas City, Missouri, passed away on Tuesday, January 23, 2024, at The Estoria of Norterre Rehabilitation and Recovery, Liberty, Missouri.
William was born the son of William Woodrow and Naomi Ruth (Coen) Brown on July 22, 1940, in Jamesport, Missouri. He was a 1958 graduate of Jamesport Tri-County High School. William served in the United States Air Force and was career military. He was united in marriage to Beverly Sue Meneely on July 17, 1960, at Calvary Baptist Church, Chillicothe, Missouri. They enjoyed 63 years of marriage. She survives of the home. William worked for Honeywell in Kansas City, Missouri, for many years. He was a member of Pleasant Valley Baptist Church, Liberty, Missouri, where he also volunteered in their IT department for 10 years. William enjoyed playing fastpitch softball, bowling, and square dancing with Beverly. He was an avid Kansas City Chiefs fan.
Additional survivors include one son, William Chris Brown and wife, Stephanie, of Kansas City, Missouri; one daughter, Teresa Mayfield and husband, Jeff, of Kansas City, Missouri; six grandchildren, Courtney Shanks and Chuck Hicks, Rebecca Highfill and husband, Michael, Christina Oseguera and husband, Eduardo, Brittany Rodriguez and husband, Richard, Savannah Brown, and Isabella Middaugh all of Kansas City, Missouri; great grandchildren, Tyler Shanks, Peyton Shanks, Madilynne Shanks, Dayton Oseguera, Cristian Oseguera, Sofia Oseguera, Dalton Highfill, Colton Highfill, and Abigail Rodriguez all of Kansas City, Missouri. He was preceded in death by his parents; sister and brother-in-law, Geraldine (Brown) New and Larry New; and one grandson-in-law, Troy Shanks.
A celebration of life will be held at Pleasant Valley Baptist Church, Liberty, Missouri, on Saturday, February 17, 2024, at 2:00 p.m. A scheduled visitation will be held at Pleasant Valley Baptist Church, Liberty, on Saturday, February 17, 2024, one hour prior to the service at 1:00 p.m. until 2:00 p.m. Friends may call at Lindley Funeral Home, Chillicothe, on Friday, February 16, 2024, from 9:00 a.m. until 5:00 p.m. A private family inurnment will be held at a later date at Meadville Cemetery, Meadville, Missouri.
