William Arthur "Bill" Brooke
William Arthur "Bill" Brooke, age 90, a resident of Braymer, Missouri, passed away on Monday, January, 25, 2021, at Liberty Hospital in Liberty, Missouri.
William was born the son of Charles and Eva Viola (Pence) Brooke on January 5, 1931, in Norborne, Missouri. He was a 1949 graduate of New York High School, in New York, Missouri. He served in the United States Marine Corps from 1952 until 1955 during the Korean Conflict. He was united in marriage to Mary Louise Tucker on November, 10, 1955, in Braymer, Missouri. She preceded him in death on October 19, 1977. William was a farmer, and worked for the Missouri Department of Transportation for 30 years. He enjoyed driving his ranger around the farm, raising his lambs and sheep, and attending cornhusking competitions. Most of all, he enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Survivors include two sons, Michael Brooke and wife Lisa of Braymer, Missouri, and David Brooke of Cowgill, Missouri; one daughter, Dawn Floyd and husband Tim, of Braymer, Missouri; six grandchildren; seven great grandchildren; four brothers, Charles Brooke, Edwin Brooke, James Brooke, and Lloyd Brooke; and two sisters, Margurite McCary, and Eloise Gilgour. He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Mary; one granddaughter, Dana Brooke; one brother, Leonard Brooke; and three sisters, Dorothy Hiatt, Shirley Curtis, and Rose Brooke.
Graveside services will be held at Evergreen Cemetery, Braymer, Missouri, on Thursday, January, 28, 2021, at 10:00 a.m. Friends may call at the Lindley Pitts Funeral Home, Braymer, Missouri, on Wednesday, January 27, 2021, from Noon until 7:00 p.m. Burial will be held at Evergreen Cemetery, Braymer, Missouri.
