William "Bill" Lewis Rankin

William "Bill" Rankin William "Bill" Lewis Rankin passed away Saturday, August 18, 2012 at age 64 at Center Point Medical Center in Independence, Missouri. Bill was born October 9, 1947, the son of Lewis and Lucy (Johnson) Rankin in Braymer, Missouri. He was a 1965 graduate of Braymer C-4 High School. On February 16, 2002 he was united in marriage to Maria Isabel Cardenas. She survives of the home. Bill worked most of his adult life as an over-the-road truck driver for ABF Freight, retiring in 2008. Bill loved socializing with his friends and was always an avid motorcycle rider. He is survived by his wife, Maria Isabel "Chebela" of the home; two daughters, Kelly Smith and husband Ron and Billie Ann Sullivan and husband Rob both of Independence, Missouri; an adopted son, Mark Rankin and wife Elaina of Plattsburg, Missouri; step-daughter, Sandra Garcia of Oklahoma; nine grandchildren; three step-grandchildren; a nephew; a niece; two aunts; and several cousins. Services will be held on Thursday, August 23, 2012 at 11:00 a.m. at the Lindley-Pitts Funeral Home, Braymer, Missouri. There will be a family visitation Wednesday, August 22, 2012 at the Lindley- Pitts Funeral Home from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Friends may call at the funeral home on Wednesday from 12 noon until 9:00 p.m. Burial will be held at Evergreen Cemetery, Braymer, Missouri. Memorial contributions may be made to Bikers for Babies and may be left at the funeral home or mailed to Lindley Funeral Home, P.O. Box 47, Chillicothe, Missouri 64601.
