William "Bill" Joseph Pray
William "Bill" Joseph Pray, age 78, a resident of Chula, Missouri, passed away on Wednesday, December 1, 2021, at Hedrick Medical Center, Chillicothe, Missouri.
Bill was born the son of Vernon and Elsie (Hatfield) Pray on April 14, 1943, in Chula, Missouri. He was united in marriage to Judy Lynn Gilson on May 27, 1989, in Olathe, Kansas. She preceded him in death on June 30, 2003. He worked as a truck driver for Yellow Freight for many years until his retirement in 2003. Bill was a member of the Chillicothe Elks Lodge #656, and the Livingston County Steam and Gas Association. He played the spoons, and enjoyed his Bluegrass friends.
Survivors include three sons, Rick Pray and wife Pam of Tonganoxie, Kansas, Tony Pray, and Michael Pray; five grandchildren, Hannah, Abigail, Drake, Marian, and Stella Pray; and one nephew, Randy Horton. He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Judy; and one sister, Donna Horton.
Funeral services will be held at the Lindley Funeral Home, Chillicothe, Missouri, on Saturday, December 11, 2021, at 11:00 a.m. A scheduled visitation will be held at the Lindley Funeral Home, Chillicothe, Missouri, on Saturday, December 11, 2021, one hour prior to the service at 10:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. Friends may call at the Lindley Funeral Home, Chillicothe, Missouri, on Friday, December 10, 2021, from 12 noon until 7:00 p.m. Burial will be held at May Cemetery, Chula, Missouri. Memorial contributions may be made to May Cemetery and/or Chula Community Center and may be left at or mailed to Lindley Funeral Home, P.O. Box 47, Chillicothe, Missouri 64601.
