William "Bill" L. King, Jr.

William "Bill" L. King, Jr. William "Bill" L. King, Jr., age 90, a resident of Chillicothe, Missouri, passed away on Wednesday, July 13, 2016, at Saint Luke's North Hospital, Kansas City, Missouri. Bill was born the son of William L. and Pauline (Fries) King on June 28, 1926, in Kansas City, Kansas. He was a 1944 graduate of Bellevue High School. He was a member of the United States Army Air Corps during World War II. He was united in marriage to Coleen Seikmann on February 26, 1950, in St. Joseph, Missouri. She survives of the home. Bill worked as a self-employed farmer his whole life. He was a member of the Pleasant Grove United Methodist Church, Chillicothe, Missouri. He was also a member Friendship Lodge # 89. A.F. & A.M., the Moila Shrine, the Chillicothe Shrine Club, the Rollin Rascals, and the Chillicothe Croquet Club. He was a former member of the Chillicothe Lions Club. Bill enjoyed playing cards, and loved traveling, especially to Florida, where he enjoyed playing shuffle board. Bill and his wife traveled in a motor home to every state except for Hawaii. Survivors include his wife, Coleen of the home; two daughters, Linda Smith and husband Duane of Chillicothe, Missouri, and Sandra Jo Bennett and husband Bryan of Chillicothe, Missouri; four grandchildren, Cliff Smith and wife Jenea of Columbia, Missouri, Leda Schreiner and husband Anthony of Chillicothe, Missouri, Wade Smith and wife Molly of Kansas City, Missouri, and Crystal Tipton and husband Chad of Miami, Florida; twelve great grandchildren, Cora, Cate, and Caleb Smith, Emily, Andrew, and Jack Schreiner, Murphy and Thorsten Smith, and Bailey, Braden, Bella, and Bishop Tipton; and one sister, Wilma Wardlow of Maryville, Missouri. He was preceded in death by his parents; and two brothers, Richard and Robert King. Funeral services will be held at the Pleasant Grove United Methodist Church, Chillicothe, Missouri, on Monday, July 18, 2016, at 10:00 a.m. A Masonic service will be held at the Lindley Funeral Home, Chillicothe, Missouri, on Sunday, July 17, 2016, at 4:00 p.m. with visitation to follow until 6:00 p.m. Friends may call at the Lindley Funeral Home, Chillicothe, Missouri, on Sunday, July 17, 2016, from 11:00 a.m. until 8:00 p.m. Burial will be held at Edgewood Cemetery, Chillicothe, Missouri. Memorial contributions may be made to the Pleasant Grove United Methodist Church and/or the Shriners Children's Hospital and may be left at or mailed to Lindley Funeral Home, P.O.
