William "Bill" Albert Kieffer
William "Bill" Albert Kieffer, age 77, a resident of Chillicothe, Missouri, passed away on Sunday, December 27, 2020, at his home surrounded by his wife, son, and beloved dogs, Minnie and Susie.
Bill was born the son of Otis Kuebler Kieffer and Gladys Elizabeth (Walters) Kieffer on August 10, 1943, in Savannah, Missouri. He was a 1961 graduate of Chillicothe High School. He served in the Missouri National Guard. Bill was united in marriage to Birdie (Ann) Barnes on April 20, 1964, in Chillicothe, Missouri. She survives of the home. He worked as airport manager at the Chillicothe Municipal Airport for many years. Bill owned and operated Kieffer Spraying Service for 28 years in Chillicothe. He attended the Free Methodist Church, Chillicothe, Missouri. Bill was also a member of the Experimental Aircraft Association Chapter 944. He loved tackling projects. In his lifetime he raced motorcycles, stock cars, became a pilot and later an aerial applicator. He restored antique airplanes and cars. He enjoyed spending time at the Lake of the Ozarks with his wife and family pets, and built two lake houses over the years spent there.
Survivors include his wife, Birdie "Ann" Kieffer of the home; one son, Billy Kieffer of Chillicothe, Missouri; two grandchildren, Will Kieffer and Madison Kieffer; one brother, Bob Kieffer and wife Mary of Chillicothe, Missouri; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents.
A private family memorial service will be held at a later date at Edgewood Cemetery, Chillicothe, Missouri. A celebration of life will be held at a later date. Friends may call at the Lindley Funeral Home, Chillicothe, Missouri, on Monday, January 4, 2021, from 8:00 a.m. until 5:00 p.m. Memorial contributions may be made to the Forest O. Triplett Animal Shelter and/or Free Methodist Church and may be left at or mailed to Lindley Funeral Home, P.O. Box 47, Chillicothe, Missouri 64601.
