William "Bill" Leslie Foster
William "Bill" Leslie Foster, age 85, a resident of Lee's Summit, Missouri, a former resident of Chillicothe, Missouri, passed away on Friday, September 27, 2019, at his residence.
Bill was born the son of William H. and Rachel M. (Jordan) on March 31, 1934, in Camden, Arkansas. He was a 1952 graduate of Fort Smith High School, Fort Smith, Arkansas. After graduation, Bill attended the University of Arkansas graduating with a Bachelor's Degree in Education in 1956. He then earned a Master's Degree in Vocational Education in 1958 from the University of Arkansas. Bill served in the United States Army Reserves from 1959 until 1965. He was united in marriage to Karen Archer on August 12, 1960, at St. Columban Catholic Church in Chillicothe, Missouri. She survives of the home. He worked for the Missouri Department of Education from 1965 until 1972. He then worked for the Kansas City School District for many years. He then worked as a vocational educator for Metropolitan Community College, Kansas City, Missouri, until his retirement in 1998. He was a member of Our Lady of the Presentation Catholic Church, Lee's Summit, Missouri. He was also a member of Boy Scout Troop 283, and was an Honorary Warrior for the Tribe of Mic-O-Say.
Survivors include his wife, Karen Foster of the home; two sons, Christopher L. Foster and wife Sandi of Kansas City, Missouri, and Randall Foster and wife Miranda of Port Orchard, Washington; one daughter, Leslie Memoly of Blue Springs, Missouri; six grandchildren, Taylor, Cassidy, Madison, and Carsten Foster, and Danielle and Brooke Memoly; three great grandchildren, Arthur and William Foster, and McKinley Pitts; and one nephew, David Foster of North Kansas City, Missouri. He was preceded in death by his parents; infant daughter, Kimberly Foster; one brother, Jim Foster; and one niece, Candy McCroy.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at Our Lady of the Presentation Catholic Church, 130 NW Murray Road, Lee's Summit, Missouri 64081, on Tuesday, October 1, 2019, at 10:30 a.m. A scheduled visitation will be held at Our Lady of the Presentation Catholic Church, Lee's Summit, Missouri, on Tuesday, October 1, 2019, one hour prior to the service at 9:30 a.m. until 10:30 a.m. Friends may call at the Lindley Funeral Home, Chillicothe, Missouri, on Monday, September 30, 2019, from 10:00 a.m. until 5:00 p.m. Inurnment will be held at St. Columban Catholic Cemetery, Chillicothe, Missouri, on Tuesday, October 1, 2019, at 4:00 p.m. Memorial contributions may be made to Our Lady of the Presentation Catholic Church and may be left at or mailed to Lindley Funeral Home, P.O.
