Willard E. McCracken Willard E. McCracken, age 91, a resident of Dawn, Missouri, passed away on Monday, January 15, 2018, at Indian Hills - A Stonebridge Community, Chillicothe, Missouri. Willard was born the son of Harley and Tabitha Jane (Powers) McCracken on June 8, 1926, in Blue Mound, Missouri. He attended Blue Mound Schools. He was united in marriage to Nina Mae McNally on June 14, 1948, in Chillicothe, Missouri. She preceded him in death on December 30, 2011. Willard worked as a refuse operator for Chillicothe Municipal Utilities for many years. He also worked for John Meek Roofing and Cement Blocks. He attended the Open Bible Christian Church. Willard enjoyed gardening, wildlife watching, and telling a good and hearty joke. He loved his children and grandchildren, his farm animals, and his Mule named Mel. Survivors include one son, Darrell McCracken and wife Sharon of Dawn, Missouri; one daughter, Linda Wheelbarger of Dawn, Missouri; five grandchildren; fourteen great grandchildren; and three great-great grandchildren; and one sister-in-law, Freda McCracken of Ludlow, Missouri. He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Nina; one great granddaughter, Sarah Burstert; five siblings, Ercil, Raymond, Ervin, Veda Hughes, and Chester McCracken. Funeral services will be held at the Lindley Funeral Home, Chillicothe, Missouri, on Wednesday, January 17, 2018, at 10:00 a.m. There is no scheduled visitation. Friends may call at the Lindley Funeral Home, Chillicothe, Missouri, on Tuesday, January 16, 2018 , from 12 noon until 7:00 p.m. Burial will be held at Blue Mound Cemetery, Blue Mound, Missouri; Memorial contributions may be made to the Blue Mound Cemetery and may be left at or mailed to Lindley Funeral Home, P.O.
