Wilda Ann (Surber) Rottmann
Wilda Ann (Surber) Rottmann, 94, of Meadville, passed away March 1, 2021 with her two daughters by her side at St Luke's North Hospital in Kansas City, Missouri.
Wilda was born the daughter of Marion and Neta (Springer) Surber on December 31, 1926 near Meadville, Missouri. She was a 1944 graduate of Meadville High School. On May 5, 1946, she was united in marriage to Darrell Rottmann and they enjoyed over 70 years together before he preceded her in death in April of 2017.
On October 20, 1949, they welcomed their first child, Carolyn Ann, and on August 4, 1952, welcomed their second daughter, Vickie Lynn.
Wilda was a lifelong farmer's wife and homemaker. She enjoyed cooking, gardening, watching and attending sporting events, socializing, and feeding and watching hummingbirds as well as spending time on the farm.
In her younger years, she enjoyed riding horses with her husband, Darrell and together they were founding members of the Meadville Saddle Club. She was a member of the Meadville PTA, the Busy Bees Ladies Club, an election volunteer, and delivered Meals on Wheels. She loved feeding anyone who came by her home.
Survivors include daughters, Carolyn Dudley and Kenneth, Meadville; Vickie Dewey, Liberty, Missouri; four grandchildren, David Dudley and Brandy, Purdin, Craig Dewey and Katie, Parkville, Cara Skillman and Devin, Liberty, and Kristin Dudley, Meadville; nine great-grandchildren Zane and Kellyn Dudley, McKenna, Macy, and Mallory Lambert, Avery and Logan Dewey, and Adalynn and Brynn Skillman; one sister-in-law, Joyce Surber of Wheeling, Missouri; and several nieces and nephews, and other family members. She was preceded in death by her husband, her parents, and two brothers, Meryl Surber and Ronald Surber; and one sister-in-law, Lovene Surber.
Graveside services will be held at Botts Cemetery, Meadville, Missouri, on Friday, March 5, 2021, at 2:00 p.m. There is no scheduled visitation. Friends may call at the Lindley Funeral Home, Chillicothe, Missouri, on Thursday, March 4, 2021, from 12 noon until 7:00 p.m. Memorial contributions may be made to Botts Cemetery and/or the Church of Christ of Meadville and may be left at or mailed to Lindley Funeral Home, P.O.
