Wendell J. Street, age 94, a resident of the Missouri Veterans Home, Cameron, Missouri, and former resident of rural Trenton, Missouri, passed away on Sunday, May 5, 2019.
Wendell was born the son of James Ople Street and Lois Maxey (Street) on September 12, 1924, in Livingston County, Missouri. He was a 1941 Chillicothe High School graduate. He served in the U.S. Army Air Corps during World War II. Wendell was united in marriage to Lois Jean Dunn on March 21, 1948, at the Dockery Chapel Church. She preceded him in death on July 31, 2003. Wendell was a farmer and a U.S. Postman. He was a member of the Letter Carrier Union.
Survivors include his son, Randy Street and wife Linda of Trenton, Missouri; one daughter, Wenda Hutchison and husband Raymond of Urbandale, Iowa; five grandchildren; and ten great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife Lois Jean; and two sisters, Martha Brummitt, and Joann Brummitt.
Funeral services will be held at Lindley Funeral Home, Chillicothe, Missouri, on Wednesday, May 8, 2019, at 11:00 a.m. A family visitation is scheduled at Lindley Funeral Home, Chillicothe, Missouri, on Wednesday, May 8, 2019, from 10:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. Friends may call at the Lindley Funeral Home, Chillicothe, Missouri, on Tuesday, May 7, 2019, from 12 noon until 8:00 p.m and on Wednesday, May 8, 2019, from 8:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. Burial will be at the Shelburne Cemetery, Trenton, Missouri. Memorial contributions may be made to the Shelburne Cemetery and United Methodist Church of Chillicothe Cancer Assistance Fund and may be left at or mailed to Lindley Funeral Home, P.O.
