Wendell "Dean" Minnis Dean Minnis, age 78, a resident of Hale, Missouri, passed away on Monday, October 6, 2014, at his residence. Dean was born the son of Lyle Crockett and Leta Kathryn (Jones) Minnis on August 8, 1936, in Plymouth, Missouri. He was a 1954 graduate of Braymer High School, Braymer, Missouri. He worked as a truck driver for 30 years. Dean was united in marriage to Katie Eveline Adams on November 22, 1997 in Hale, Missouri. She preceded him in death on November 1, 2012. He was a member of the Hale Masonic Lodge No. 216. Dean enjoyed tinkering on lawn mowers as well as salvaging. Survivors include six sons: Russell Minnis and wife Betsy of Higbee, Missouri; Willard Cooper and wife Nancy of Bosworth, Missouri; Jan Earp of Hale, Missouri; Orville Cooper of Avalon, Missouri; Herman Douglas Cooper and wife Pat of Sumner; Missouri, and Michael Cooper of Houston, Missouri; ten daughters Renee Bozarth and husband Donnie of Dawn, Missouri; Reta Minnis of Meadville, Missouri; Frances Ann Ireland; Betty Delores Howe of Chillicothe, Missouri; Betty Jill Mireles and husband Roy of Fulton, Missouri; Jacquline Kay Sensenich of Carrollton, Missouri; Jennie Lee Plaggemeyer of Warsaw, Missouri; Lou Ann O'Neal and husband Bob of Carrollton, Missouri; Deborah Sue McElwee and husband Frankie of Slater, Missouri; and Nancy Carol Gardner of Houston, Texas; seventy-eight grandchildren; many great-grandchildren; numerous great-great-grandchildren; two brothers Gary Lee Minnis of Lake of the Ozarks, Missouri; and Rick Minnis and wife Loretta of Hale, Missouri; one sister Charlotte Joyce Watts and husband John of Florida; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; wife Katie Minnis; three sons Scotty Minnis, James Earp, and John Franklin Cooper; son-in-law Sammie Ireland; and two grandchildren, Joshua Boger and Dustin Minnis. A Memorial service will be held at the Lindley Funeral Home, Hale, Missouri, on Friday, October 10, 2014, at 10:00 a.m. There is no scheduled family visitation. Friends may call at the Lindley Funeral Home, Hale, Missouri, on Thursday, October 9, 2014, from 12 noon until 5:00 p.m. Burial will be held at Enon Cemetery, Dawn, Missouri. Memorial contributions may be made to the Crossroads Hospice and may be left at or mailed to Lindley Funeral Home, P.O. Box 47, Chillicothe, Missouri 64601.
