Wayne T. Allen Wayne T. Allen, 91, went to live with his Lord and Savior on October 10, 2012 at Summit Villa, Holts Summit, Mo. He was born in February of 1921 near White City, Kansas. In the depression, he worked on the family farm and eventually went on to graduate from White City High School. During World War II, he oversaw the production of B-24 bomber planes in addition to playing one season for the San Diego Padres. On June 1, 1946, he married the love of his life, Margery. She preceded him in death. Wayne worked for a short time for Western Auto before settling into his career as a tire salesman for Goodyear Tire & Rubber. He retired after 33 years of employment, then continued to sell tires for Anderson TBA in Chillicothe, Mo., and Ewers Tires in Jefferson City, Mo. He was a former member of the United Methodist Church in Chillicothe where he was involved in Sunday School and MYF, Chillicothe Rotary, Boy Scouts of America, The Tribe of Mic-o-Say, Promenade Square Dance Club, and the Lake MyKee Board. He was a present member of Union Hill Baptist Church in Holts Summit where he continued his involvement in Sunday School and assisted with Vacation Bible School. Wayne lived life to the fullest. He never met a stranger that he didn't know and was always asking children for high fives. Survivors include his children, Sharon and Dave Case, Norborne, Mo., Bob and Marsha Allen, Jan and Dan Elliott; grandchildren, Michelle and Shannon Hall, Mike and Jenni Case, Scott Elliott, Brent Elliott; great-grandchildren, Grady, Hannah, Hunter, Harrison, Cassidy, Baron, and Holly; brothers, Deane and Cora May Allen, Vernon and Lillian Allen, Gene and Lana Allen; and sister, Evelyn and Jack Prichard. He was preceded in death by his parents, niece, and nephew. Funeral services will be held at the Union Hill Baptist Church, Holts Summit, Missouri, on Monday, October 15, 2012, at 9:00 a.m. There will be a scheduled family visitation on Sunday October 14, 2012, from 2:00 p.m. at until 5:00 p.m. at the Union Hill Baptist Church, Holts Summit, Missouri. Friends may call at the Lindley Funeral Home, Chillicothe, Missouri, on Saturday, October 13, 2012, from 12 noon until 5:00 p.m. Burial will be held at the Wakenda Cemetery, Hardin, Missouri, on Monday, October 15, 2012 at 3:00 p.m. Memorial contributions may be made to the Boy Scouts of America and may be left at or mailed to the Lindley Funeral Home P.O.
