Wanda Lee Sowder Wanda Lee Sowder, age 69, a resident of Marshall, Missouri, passed away on Saturday, July 30, 2016, at St. Joseph Medical Center, Kansas City, Missouri. Wanda was born the daughter of Robert and Wanda (Seaman) Nichols on July 19, 1947, in Kansas City, Missouri. She was united in marriage to Freddy Sowder on June 16, 1965, in Chillicothe, Missouri. He survives of the home. She was a member of the First Baptist Church, Chillicothe. She was also a commander for the Disable American Veterans Post 54 ladies auxiliary. Wanda enjoyed playing the organ, word searches, writing poems, and crocheting. Wanda donated afghans to the Walter Reed Army Hospital in Washington D.C. Survivors include husband Freddy Sowder Sr. of the home; one son Freddy Sowder Jr. and wife Stacie of Trenton, Missouri; one daughter Linda Sowder of Chillicothe, Missouri, five grandchildren, and 1 great grandson; two brothers, Robert Nichols of Kansas City, Missouri, and Gary Nichols of Chillicothe, Missouri. Three sisters; Laura MacWilliams of Kemper, Texas, Debbie Person and husband Paul of Cameron, Missouri, and Patricia Harding of Shawnee, Kansas. She was preceded in death by her parents; and one sister Bobbie Nichols. A Memorial service will be held on Tuesday, August 2, 2016, at 4:00 P.M. at Lindley Funeral Home, Chillicothe, Missouri, with a family visitation to follow until 6:00 P.M.
