Wanda Lee Smith, age 79, a resident of Quincy, Illinois, former resident of Independence, Missouri, passed away Friday, July 12, 2024, at High Point Senior Living Center, Quincy, Illinois.
Wanda was born the daughter of Howard William and Lucille Faye (Sturwoldt) Smith on October 12, 1944, in Polo, Missouri. She worked for Montgomery Ward for many years. She then worked for Sears for several years. Wanda enjoyed traveling with her friends and coworkers. She also enjoyed camping with her sister and brother-in-law, Shirley and Joe Higgins. Wanda loved watching NASCAR.
Wanda is survived by three brothers, Charlie (Carol) Smith of Hannibal, Missouri, Barnie (Janet) Smith of Braymer, Missouri, and Phil Smith of Camanche, Iowa; one sister, Shirley Higgins of Chillicothe, Missouri; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; one sister, Patsy Ann Huff; and one brother, Donald Robert Smith.
Graveside services will be held at McBee Chapel Cemetery, Braymer, Missouri, on Monday, July 15, 2024, at 10:00 a.m. There is no scheduled visitation. Memorial contributions may be made to McBee Chapel Cemetery and may be mailed to or left at Lindley Funeral Home, PO Box 47, Chillicothe, Missouri, 64601.
