Wanda Lucille Murrell, age 81, a resident of Chillicothe, Missouri, passed away at Hedrick Medical Center, Chillicothe, Missouri, on Friday, October 8, 2010. She was born the daughter of Floyd and Rose (Walz) Thomas, on September 28, 1929, in Utica, Missouri. On April 25, 1948, she married Joseph Wendell Murrell, in Utica, Missouri. He preceded her in death on January 19, 2001. Wanda was a homemaker and an active member of the Eagles, Elks, and St. Ann's Altar Society. She was a past president of the American Legion Auxiliary, a Cub Scout leader, and taught 1st Communion at St. Columban Catholic Church. She is survived by four sons, Joseph Murrell Jr. and wife Roonie, of Tulsa, Oklahoma, Donald Murrell and wife Kim, of Chillicothe, Missouri; Stephen Murrell and wife Lisa, of Glasgow, Missouri; James Murrell and wife Jodi, of Kansas City, Missouri; two daughters, Sharon Stith and husband Junior, of Chillicothe, Missouri; Deborah Stith and husband Michael, of Bend, Oregon; two brothers, Leo Thomas and wife Joyce, of Flagstaff, Arizona; Tom Thomas and wife Becky, of Kearney, Missouri; 18 grandchildren, Jennifer McMullin, John C. Bradley, Jason Bradley, Donald Stith III, Steven Stith, Gavin Stith and wife Kourtnie, Joseph Murrell and wife Anna Marie, Thomas Murrell, Patrick Murrell, John Murrell, Brian Murrell, Abby Skradski and husband James, Kellen Murrell, Gretta Murrell, Holli Murrell, Amy Callahan and husband Aaron, Stacy McClure and husband Brian, Micah Stith and wife Brooke; 12 great-grandchildren, Gage McMullin, Haley McMullin, Caden Thomas, Joseph Murrell IV, Patrick Skradski, Christian McClure, Aden McClure, Paiton Stith, Rory Stith, Baylee Stith, Noah Tigner, and Garrett Callahan. She was also preceded by her parents; son, Thomas David Murrell, one sister, Mary Joanne Laswell; and one brother, Donald Edwin. Services will be at the St. Columban Catholic Church, Chillicothe, Missouri, on Tuesday, October 12, 2010, at 10:00 a.m. There will be a parish rosary on Monday, October 11, 2010, at 6:00 p.m. with family visitation following until 8:00 p.m. Friends may call on Monday, October 11, 2010, from 9:00 a.m. till 9:00 p.m. at the Lindley Funeral Home, Chillicothe, Missouri. Burial will be at the St. Columban Catholic Cemetery.
