Walter LeRoy Thomas, age 60, a resident of Chillicothe, Missouri, passed away on Tuesday, January 22, 2019, at St. Luke's Hospital, Kansas City, Missouri.
Walter was born the son of John Pershing Thomas, Sr. and Wanda Lucille (Gann) Thomas on June 12, 1958, in Chillicothe, Missouri. He attended Chillicothe High School. He worked as a cook for Country Kitchen for many years. Walter was a member of Lifepoint Church, Chillicothe, Missouri. He enjoyed spending time with his nieces, nephews, great nieces, and great nephews.
Survivors include one daughter, Courtney Marie Thomas of Jonesville, Louisiana; three brothers, John Thomas, Jr. of Chillicothe, Missouri, Bobby Thomas and wife Suzie of Chillicothe, Missouri, and Jerry Bagley of Arizona; two sisters, Fern Albertson and husband Jerry of Meadville, Missouri, and Julia Sensenich and husband Greg of Chillicothe, Missouri; and several nieces, nephews, great nieces, and great nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; one brother, Harold Thomas; and one nephew, Blake Briner.
A memorial service will be held at Lifepoint Church, Chillicothe, Missouri, on Saturday, February 2, 2019, at 10:00 a.m. There is no scheduled visitation. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Liver Foundation and may be left at or mailed to Lindley Funeral Home, P.O. Box 47, Chillicothe, Missouri 64601.
