Walter "Prather" Ellsberry

Walter "Prather" Ellsberry Walter "Prather" Ellsberry, age 73, a resident of Chillicothe, Missouri, passed away on Wednesday, August 9, 2017, at his residence. Prather was born the son of Paul and Elizabeth Ann (Prather) Ellsberry on August 26, 1943, in Milan, Missouri. He was a 1961 graduate of Chillicothe High School. He then attended Tidewater Community College in Virginia Beach, Virginia, and graduated in 1976, with a Bachelor's of Science Degree in management. In 1997, Prather graduated from the Nova Southeastern University in Fort Lauderdale, Florida, with a Master's Degree in Business Administration. He served in the United States Navy from 1963 until 1977, where he served on four different submarines. Prather was united in marriage to Marlyn Frieda Khouri on November 5, 1995, in Inglis, Florida. She survives of the home. He worked in commercial nuclear power in progress energy for Florida Progress Corporation for 15 years until his retirement. Survivors include his mother, Elizabeth Ann Ellsberry of Chillicothe, Missouri; his wife Marlyn Ellsberry of the home; two sons, Kevin Ellsberry of California, and Johnny Whitford of Florida; four daughters, Lisa Ellsberry of Washington State; Marcella Knapp of Chillicothe, Missouri, Marlyne Maberry of Florida, and Martyn Davenport of Florida; six grandchildren, Victor, Matthew, Mitchael, Gregory, Sabrina, and Shanda all of Florida; three great grandchildren, Ashlynn, Nathaniel, and Caleb of Florida; and one sister, Paula Ellsberry of Denver, Colorado. He was preceded in death by his daughter, Michelle Whitford; and one son, young Kevin. A memorial service will be held at the Prather Cemetery on Elk Road, Browning, Missouri, on Thursday, August 24, 2017, at 1:00 p.m. Memorial contributions may be made to Prather Cemetery and may be left at or mailed to Lindley Funeral Home, P.O.
