Walter Terrell Breeden Walter Terrell Breeden, age 87, a resident of Chillicothe, Missouri, passed away on Thursday, January 26, 2017, at his residence. Walter was born the son of Gordon and Iola (Posey) Breeden on August 21, 1929, in Macon County, Missouri. He was a 1946 graduate of Chillicothe High School. He was united in marriage to Patricia Carroll Pyrtle on September 17, 1949, in Chillicothe, Missouri. She preceded him in death on January 8, 2006. He served in the Missouri National Guard from May of 1948 until his transfer to the Kansas National Guard in November 1965. He then served in the United States Army from 1968 until 1970, as 1st Sergeant where he was active duty, then furthered his military career in the United States Army Reserves from 1970 until his retirement in 1989. Walter worked for Kaye Implement Company in Chillicothe, Missouri, as shop foreman from 1947 until 1963. He then worked for Farm & City Supply Company in Chillicothe, Missouri, as manager from 1963 until 1965. He then worked for Coleman Implement Company in Bonner Springs, Kansas, as shop foreman from 1965 until 1968. Walter then moved to Colorado Springs, Colorado, where he worked as a mechanic for the city from 1973 until his retirement in 2005. Walter lived in and around Colorado Springs, Colorado, from 1968 until 2014, when he made his return to Chillicothe, Missouri. Survivors include four sons, Terry Allen Breeden of Austin, Texas, Walter Leland Gordon Breeden of Security, Colorado, David Steven Breeden and wife Bettye of Kingston, Tennessee, Rodney Dale Breeden and wife Connie of Colorado Springs, Colorado; two daughters, Debra Kaye Scelso and husband Joseph of Lehi, Utah, and Julie Ann Rhuby and husband James of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma; Vince Vaughn and wife Irene of Albuquerque, New Mexico, and Romana McCarty Breeden of Chandler, Arizona, who were raised as part of his family; thirteen grandchildren; fifteen great grandchildren; one brother, William "Bill" Breeden and wife Shirley of Chillicothe, Missouri; and one brother-in-law, (Jiggs) Harold Warren of Wheeling, Missouri. He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Patricia; and sister, Carla Warren. Funeral services will be held at the Lindley Funeral Home, Chillicothe, Missouri, on Monday, January 30, 2017, at 10:00 a.m. A scheduled family visitation will be held at the Lindley Funeral Home, Chillicothe, Missouri, on Sunday, January 29, 2017, from 4:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m. Friends may call at the Lindley Funeral Home, Chillicothe, Missouri, on Sunday, January 29, 2017, from 12 noon until 8:00 p.m. Burial will be held at Resthaven Memorial Gardens, Chillicothe, Missouri.
