Victor L. Wood

Victor Wood Victor Wood, age 87, a resident of Chillicothe, Missouri, passed away on Monday, November 16, 2015, at his residence. Victor was born the son of Louise Daniel and Wynona Beatrice (Elliott) Wood on June 18, 1928, in Chillicothe, Missouri. He served in the United States Navy during World War II. Victor was united in marriage to Ilene Snelling on February 7, 1972, in Miami, Oklahoma. She survives of the home. Victor was an insurance agent for many years. He was a member of the Chillicothe Friendship Lodge # 89. A.F. & A.M. and the Chillicothe American Legion Vern R. Glick Post #125. Victor enjoyed reading, camping, fishing, hunting and western movies and books. He loved family. Survivors include wife, Ilene of the home; four sons, Franklin Louis Wood and wife Patricia of Charlotte, North Carolina, Michael Lee Wood and wife Melody of Kansas City, Missouri, Lance Victor Wood and wife Brenda of Platte City, Missouri, and Eddy Bowe of Bogard, Missouri; one daughter, Sonja Bowe Green of Chillicothe, Missouri; fourteen grandchildren; several great grandchildren; and one sister, Virginia Cox and husband Vernon of Wheatland, Missouri. He was preceded in death his parents; infant son, Chip Eli Wood; and one sister, Vera Neely. A graveside service will be held at Resthaven Memorial Gardens, Chillicothe, Missouri, on Wednesday, November 18, 2015, at 11:00 a.m. There is no scheduled family visitation. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Forest O. Triplett Animal Shelter and may be left at or mailed to Lindley Funeral Home, P.O. Box 47, Chillicothe, Missouri 64601.
