Vernon Lee Reeter, age 74, a resident of Chillicothe, Missouri, passed away on Tuesday, July 2, 2019, at Indian Hills - A Stonebridge Community, Chillicothe, Missouri.
Vernon was born the son of Vernie Clayton and Vivian Rose (Dickerson) Reeter on June 16, 1945, in Livingston County, Missouri. He was a 1963 graduate of Jamesport High School. He was united in marriage to Donna Young on June 21, 1964, at Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church in Chillicothe, Missouri. She survives of the home. Vernon worked as a farmer his whole life. He also worked for MoDOT for several years, as well as a bus driver in Rural Livingston County for many years. He was a member of the Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church, Chillicothe, Missouri. Vernon enjoyed Trout fishing, and hunting, with turkey season and deer season being like a holiday to him. He loved attending the State Fair, and working on cars and tractors. He especially enjoyed collecting Allis-Chalmers Tractors, annual family trips to Branson, and helping his neighbors. Vernon loved spending time with his family and friends.
Survivors include his wife, Donna Reeter, of the home; one son, Russell Reeter and wife Audrey of Chillicothe, Missouri; three daughters, Verna Eller and husband Marty of Chillicothe, Missouri, Paula Kinnamon of Broken Arrow, Oklahoma, and Rachel Hayes and husband Johnny of Chillicothe, Missouri; twelve grandchildren, Lambert Eller, Trevor Long, Stewart Long, Tristan Kinnamon, Trent Kinnamon, Hunter Lee Reeter, Aven Burch, Aislyn Burch, Harper Leigh Reeter, Braelyn Hayes, Paisley Hayes, and Landrey Hayes; one brother, Terry Reeter and wife Linda of Chillicothe, Missouri; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Donald and Fleeta Young; and one sister, Deloris Ashford.
Funeral services will be held at the Lindley Funeral Home, Chillicothe, Missouri, on Saturday, July 6, 2019, at 1:00 p.m. A scheduled visitation will be held at the Lindley Funeral Home, Chillicothe, Missouri, on Friday, July 5, 2019, from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Friends may call at the Lindley Funeral Home, Chillicothe, Missouri, on Friday, July 5, 2019, from 12 noon until 8:00 p.m. Burial will be held at Brassfield Cemetery, Chillicothe, Missouri.
