Vera Ruth Rupe

Vera Ruth Rupe, age 94, a resident of Chillicothe, Missouri passed away at Indian Hills Nursing Home in Chillicothe, Missouri on Friday, February 12, 2010. She was born on February 11, 1916 in Livingston County, Missouri the daughter of Charlie and Amanda Jane (New) Hutchison. She was a 1933 graduate of Chillicothe High School in Chillicothe, Missouri. On February 20, 1934 she married Ray Rupe in Chillicothe, Missouri. He preceded her in death in April of 1975. Vera Ruth was a member of the Springhill & Bedford Methodist Church. She was a member and played the piano for the Autumn Leaves, R.S.V.P and sang in their chorus. She liked to volunteer to play the piano at Indian Hills Nursing Home. She loved quilting and playing the piano. Survivors include one son, Clifford Wayne Rupe of Gravois Mills, Missouri; three daughters, Vera Rhea Lisenby and husband Gerald of Gravois Mills, Missouri, Margaret Elaine Burton and husband John of Chillicothe, Missouri, Donna Faye Ireland and husband Jerry of Chillicothe, Missouri; six grandchildren; thirteen great-grandchildren; 3 great-great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband; one granddaughter; and two sisters. Services will be on Monday, February 15, 2010 at Lindley Funeral Home in Chillicothe, Missouri at 1:00 p.m. There will be a family visitation on Monday from 12:00 noon until service time at the funeral home. Friends may call on Sunday February 14, 2010 from 12:00 noon until 9:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Burial will be in Resthaven Memorial Gardens in Chillicothe, Missouri. Memorial contributions may be made to the Indian Hills Nursing Home Activity Fund or Hedrick Medical Center Hospice and may be left at the funeral home or mailed to Lindley Funeral Home, PO Box 47, Chillicothe, Missouri 64601 Arrangements are under the direction of Lindley Funeral Home, Chillicothe, Missouri.
