V. Ruth Jones V. Ruth Jones, age 96, a resident of Chillicothe, Missouri, passed away on Thursday, May 3, 2018, at Morningside Center, Chillicothe, Missouri. Ruth was born the daughter of Edward M. and Daisy Clyde (Brugh) Hicklin on March 4, 1922, in Sampsel, Missouri. She was a 1940 graduate of Chillicothe High School. Ruth was united in marriage to Lloyd Jones on April 6, 1941, in Chillicothe, Missouri. He preceded her in death on March 17, 1987. She worked in the receiving department for J.C. Penny for over 10 years. She was a member of the First Christian Church, Chillicothe, Missouri. She was also a member of the Vern R. Glick American Legion Post #25 Women's Auxiliary. Ruth served as a volunteer for Livingston County 4-H, and for the Livingston County Health Center. Survivors include one daughter, Virginia Hughes and husband Ronald of Chillicothe, Missouri; three grandchildren, Cherie Heussner and husband Brett of Tina, Missouri, Jason Pittman and wife Casey of Bonner Springs, Kansas, and Randy Hughes and wife Libby of Bloomfield, New Mexico; seven great grandchildren; and seven great-great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Lloyd; one daughter, Shirley Shannon; one granddaughter, Angela Shannon; three brothers, Earl, Karl, and Ross Hicklin; and two sisters, Grace Cole, and Ethel Melton. Funeral services will be held at the Lindley Funeral Home, Chillicothe, Missouri, on Monday, May 7, 2018, at 11:00 a.m. A scheduled visitation will be held at the Lindley Funeral Home, Chillicothe, Missouri, on Monday, May 7, 2018, one hour prior to the service at 10:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. Friends may call at the Lindley Funeral Home, Chillicothe, Missouri, on Sunday, May 6, 2018, from 12 noon until 6:00 p.m. Burial will be held at Resthaven Memorial Gardens, Chillicothe, Missouri.
