Troy Jefferson Hays, Sr. Troy Jefferson Hays, Sr., age 43, a resident of Chillicothe, Missouri, passed away on Saturday, April 5, 2014, at his residence. Troy was born the son of Dalton Verl and Shirley Ann (Periman) Hays Provolt Hopper on May 27, 1970, in Chillicothe, Missouri. He was a 1990 graduate of Chillicothe High School. Troy was a member of the United States Marine Corps from 1990 until 1994. He worked as a Car Salesman for Adam Ford, Belton, Missouri, and Extreme Ford, Overland Park, Kansas. Troy was also a member of the American Legion Verne R. Glick Post #25. Survivors include his mother and stepfather, Shirley and Tim Hopper of Chillicothe, Missouri; father, Dalton Hays of Carrollton, Missouri; one son, Troy Jefferson Hays, II of Louisburg, Kansas; one daughter, Jacci Hays of Osawatomie, Kansas; one grandchild, Lilly Reithmayr of Osawatomie, Kansas; five brothers, Melvin Hays and wife Rachel of Chillicothe, Missouri, Daniel Hays and wife Michelle of Chillicothe, Missouri; Gary Provolt, Jr. of Chillicothe, Missouri, Curtis Provolt of Chillicothe, Missouri; and Justin Provolt of Grandview, Missouri; and maternal grandmother, Lula Mae Lamp of Chillicothe, Missouri. He was preceded in death by his maternal grandfather, Troy Periman; paternal grandparents, Truman Hays and Velma Hays Fox; one brother, Adam Joseph Hays; one sister-in-law, Kelly Hays; and one uncle Doyle Hays. Funeral services will be held at the Lindley Funeral Home, Chillicothe, Missouri, on Tuesday, April 8, 2014, at 1:00 p.m. A scheduled family visitation will be held at the Lindley Funeral Home, Chillicothe, Missouri, on Monday, April 7, 2014, from 7:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. Friends may call at the Lindley Funeral Home, Chillicothe, Missouri, on Monday, April 7, 2014, from 4:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. and on Tuesday, April 8, 2014, from 9:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. Burial will be held at Slagle Cemetery, Chillicothe, Missouri.
