Thelma Lucile (Chase) Sprouse, age 90, resident of Braymer, Missouri passed away at her home in rural Braymer, Missouri, on Tuesday, October 19, 2010. She was born on November 10, 1919 in Lathrop, Missouri, to G.W. and Neva (Henderson) Chase. On March 31, 1940 she married Donald E Sprouse, and celebrated 70 years with the husband she always said God saved for her. Thelma taught at Proctorville School, was a teacher's aide for Braymer C-4 school, Avon representative, co-owner of Gamble's Store, and a head start teacher. She was a member of Proctorville Methodist Church where she taught Children's Sunday School for many years and played the piano for church services. For many years she was a member of the WSCS and Beneficiary Club, and a 4-H leader. She is survived by her husband of the home; daughters Donna Rickman and husband Jon of Maryville, Missouri, Martha Ripple of California, Missouri, Audrey Sprouse of Braymer, Missouri, Cheryl Watson and husband Art of Macon, Illinois; four granddaughters and spouses; two grandsons and spouses; six great granddaughters, nine great grandsons; a sister Alma Audrey Schumacher of Cameron, Missouri, sister-in-law, Harriet Fortel; nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents and a sister Helen Ellwood; granddaughter Aimee Couste'; son-in-law Scott Ripple, four brothers-in-law, a sister-in-law, and two nephews. Funeral services will be held at Pitts Funeral Home in Braymer, Missouri, on Thursday, October 21, 2010 at 2:00 p.m. There is no scheduled family visitation, friends may call from 1:00 p.m. until the time of service at the Pitts Funeral Home.
