Stephen Ross Stephen Ross, age 71, a resident of Chillicothe, Missouri, passed away at his residence on Monday, May 1, 2017. He was born the son of John F. Ross and Dorothy Lucille Ramsey, on October 23, 1945, in Norfolk, Virginia. He was a 1963 graduate of DeLaSalle High School, Kansas City, Missouri. He then attended Penn Valley Community College, Kansas City, Missouri. Stephen served in the United States Navy from 1963 until 1968. On June 22, 1973, he married Janet Hancock in Kansas City, Missouri. She survives of the home. He worked for Sears Distribution Center from 1968 until 1977 and the IRS from 1987 until 2001. He was a member of the St. James Catholic Church in Liberty, Missouri. He is also survived by one son, James M. Ross and wife Alison, of Kansas City, Missouri; one daughter Michelle Perry and husband Joshua of Wheeling, Missouri; four brothers, Mike Ross and wife Loretta, of St. Charles, Missouri, David Ross and wife Susan of Blue Springs, Missouri, Timothy Ross and wife Tracy of Norfolk, Virginia and Terrance Ross of Blue Springs, Missouri; four sisters, Rita Ross of Shawnee Mission, Kansas, Marilyn Ross of Omaha, Nebraska, Teresa Henninger of Colorado Springs, Colorado and Kathleen Ross of Blue Springs, Missouri; four grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, one sister Marguerite Ross and a brother Thomas Ross. A graveside service will be held at the Missouri State Veterans Cemetery, Higginsville, Missouri, on Friday, May 5, 2017, at 10:00 a.m. A scheduled family visitation will be held at the Lindley Funeral Home, Chillicothe, Missouri, on Thursday, May 4, 2017, from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Friends may call at the Lindley Funeral Home, Chillicothe, Missouri, on Thursday, May 4, 2017, from 12 noon until 8:00 p.m. Memorial contributions may be made to Verelle Peniston State School PTO and may be left at or mailed to Lindley Funeral Home, P.O.
