Stella Frances York, age 94, a resident of Chillicothe, Missouri, passed away on Thursday, October 08, 2020, at The Baptist Home, Chillicothe, Missouri.
Stella was born the daughter of Porter and Ellen (Gish) Donley on January 22, 1926, in Clarksburg, Missouri. She was a 1944 graduate of Clarksburg High School. She was united in marriage to Kelly York on June 5, 1944, in Colorado Springs, Colorado. He preceded her in death on August 10, 2015.
During World War II, Stella worked in the Base Commanders office at Peterson Field, Colorado Springs, Colorado.
Upon returning to Missouri after the War, she worked in the office of Weber Shoe Company, in Tipton.
Stella and Kelly moved to California, Missouri, in 1967, where she helped the Day Care with children. They were both members of Main Street Baptist Church and loved working with the Youth Organizations.
In 2002, Stella and Kelly moved to Chillicothe, Missouri, where they have spent their time supporting and living in The Baptist Home community. They became members of the First Baptist Church of Chillicothe, Missouri. Stella enjoyed teaching children's Sunday school.
Survivors include one son, Robert Kelly York, of Nevada; one daughter, Adrienne Campbell and husband Barry of Liberty, Missouri; four grandchildren, Wren Kelly York of Arvada, Colorado, Scott York of Granby, Colorado, Nicholas Osborne and wife Katie of Bellevue, Washington, and Christina Campbell of Madison, Missouri; 5 great-grandchildren, Rose York, Stella Jane York, Sage Kelly York, Kingsley Osborne, and Sullivan Osborn. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Kelly; two brothers, Lloyd Ray Donley and Arthur Leland Donley; and one sister Jean Ellen Rohrbach.
Graveside services will be held at Hickman Masonic Cemetery, Clarksburg, Missouri, on Monday, October 12, 2020, at 11:00 a.m. Memorial contributions may be made to the North Missouri Baptist Home and may be left at or mailed to Lindley Funeral Home, P.O.
