Stanley E. Diegelman, age 96, a resident of Chillicothe, Missouri, passed away on Tuesday, May 22, 2012 at Morningside Center, Chillicothe, Missouri. Stanley was born the son of Earl and Garnet (Blue) Diegelman on November 2, 1915 in Chula, Missouri. Stanley spent most of his life in Chula, Missouri before moving to Chillicothe in 2006. He served in the United States Army during World War II from 1942 to 1945. On January 16, 1950, he was united in marriage to Betty Hinnen in Chillicothe, Missouri. She preceded him in death on November 21, 2008. Stanley was a member of the Vern R. Glick Post No. 25 American Legion as well as a member of the St. Columban's Catholic Church of Chillicothe. He was a Winter Texan for over 25 years. In his younger years he was a Chula Sox baseball pitcher; he enjoyed mud racing, worked as a farmer, and was a tireless dancer. He is survived by one son, John Diegelman and wife Karen of Chillicothe, Missouri; two grandchildren, Amy Diegelman of Oak Bluffs, Massachusetts, and Ian Diegelman and wife Tara of Chillicothe, Missouri; and three great-grandchildren, Sullevin, Ace, and Lark Diegelman all of Chillicothe, Missouri. He is preceded in death by his parents; wife, Betty; two sisters, Maxine and Juanita; and one brother, Lawrence. Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Saturday, May 26, 2012 at 10:00 a.m. at the St. Columban's Catholic Church in Chillicothe, Missouri. Friends may call at the Lindley Funeral Home, Chillicothe on Friday, May 25, 2012 from 9:00 a.m. until 9:00 p.m. A parish rosary will be held at the Lindley Funeral Home, Chillicothe, Missouri on Friday, May 25, 2012 at 6:00 p.m. with a family visitation to follow.
