Shirley Glea “Shelly” Seifert, age 77, a former resident of Wheeling, Missouri, passed away on Wednesday, August 14, 2024 at McLarney Manor, Brookfield, Missouri. She was born the daughter of John Louis and Tennis Rosalie (McIntyre) McNally on February 3, 1947 in Chillicothe, Missouri.
Throughout her life, Shelly’s priority was her family. Her children and later her grandchildren brought her great joy in life. Shelly babysat in her home for several years, sold Home Interiors and opened the Sunshine Ceramics shop prior to working as a postmaster at Wheeling, Chillicothe, Rayville, Holden, and Holt Post Offices from 1979 until retiring in 2007. She was a member of the Wheeling Baptist Church, Wheeling, Missouri, and a member of the Postmaster League of Missouri, where she was involved in all their activities.
She is survived by two sons, Westley Seifert and wife, Sara of Kirksville, Missouri, and Toby Seifert of Wheeling, Missouri; one daughter, Amy Gillespie and husband, Mark of Dayton, Ohio; eight grandchildren; six great grandchildren; and one brother, Bill McNally and wife, Sharon of Chillicothe, Missouri. She was preceded in death by her parents; four brothers, Louis, Robert, Joseph, and James McNally; and four sisters, Tessie Howe, Peggy Bate and two infant sisters, Mable Louise and Mary Francis.
Funeral services will be held at Lindley Funeral Home, Chillicothe, Missouri, on Saturday, August 17, 2024 at 11:00 a.m. A visitation will be held at Lindley Funeral Home, Chillicothe, Missouri on Saturday, August 17, 2025 from 10:00 a.m until service time at 11:00 a.m. Burial will be held at Anderson-Smith Cemetery, Chillicothe, Missouri.
