Shirley Giovinco

Shirley Giovinco, age 75, resident of Chillicothe, passed away on Tuesday, August 23, 2011 at Liberty Hospital, Liberty, Missouri. Shirley was born daughter of James W. and Annie Laurie (Collins) Brown on April 9, 1936 in Birmingham, Alabama. She married Sam Giovinco on September 29, 1954 in Birmingham, Alabama. He survives her of the home. She lived most of her life in Birmingham, Alabama until she moved to Chillicothe with her husband five years ago. She was a member of the Saint Patrick's Catholic Church in Birmingham, Alabama, and attended Saint Columban's Church in Chillicothe, Missouri. Shirley is survived by her son Sam Giovinco, Jr. and wife Lucy of Irving, Texas; daughter Mary Jo Shields and husband Ray of Meadville, Missouri; grandchildren Tara Polonski and husband Eric of Austin, Texas, Rachel Young and husband Greg of Meadville, Missouri; great-grandchild Sascha Polonski; several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents. Graveside services will be held at Wheeling Cemetery, Saturday, August 27, 2011 at 10:00 a.m. No family visitation is scheduled.
