Sherry Lee Scott Sherry Lee Scott, age 73, a resident of Chillicothe, Missouri, formerly of Shawnee Mission, Kansas, passed away peacefully on Thursday, June 16, 2016, at Indian Hills Retirement Village, Chillicothe, Missouri, after a long struggle with cancer. Sherry was the second child born to James and Clara (Long) Scott on January 18, 1943, in Chillicothe, Missouri. She was a longtime employee of Waid's Restaurant's, Hatty's and retired from the Shawnee Mission School District Food Service Department. Sherry loved Elvis Presley and was very proud of all her Elvis mementos. Survivors include her older sister, Carol Scott, Teresa (Scott) Mitchell, and Ryan Mitchell all of the home. She is also survived by her sister, Mrs. Chester (Raye) Spaw, brothers, Alan Scott (Mary Ann), Phil Scott (Pat), Mrs. Danny (Ann) Scott, Dwight Scott, and Davey (Paula) Scott, along with many nieces, nephews, and great nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; one sister, Kay Lewis; two brothers, Douglas and Danny Scott; nephew, James Spaw; niece Katie Scott; great nephew, Riley Minnis; and brother-in-law, Chester Spaw. A special thank you to the staff at Indian Hills for your care for the past several years, and to her roommate, Lila. A Celebration of Life will be held at the Lindley Funeral Home, Chillicothe, Missouri, on Monday, June 20, 2016, at 10:00 a.m. A scheduled family visitation will be held at the Lindley Funeral Home, Chillicothe, Missouri, on Monday, June 20, 2016, one hour prior to the service from 9:00 a.m. until 10:00 a.m. Friends may call at the Lindley Funeral Home, Chillicothe, Missouri, on Sunday, June 19, 2016, from 12 noon until 8:00 p.m. Burial will be held at May Cemetery, Chula, Missouri. Memorial contributions may be made to Shawnee Mission Educational Foundation and may be left at or mailed to Lindley Funeral Home, P.O. Box 47, Chillicothe, Missouri 64601.
