Sara Beth Dixson Brewer
This is the story of Sara Beth Dixson Brewer. Sara, "Betty" as many called her, was born on December 8, 1933, the fifth child to Othel and Erma Layson Dixson of Jamesport, Missouri.  Betty and her five siblings grew up on their parents farm in Hickory, Missouri, where hard work, respect, love and faith in God were instilled from a young age. Betty's first born son, Michael Dean Walker was born on October 7, 1951. Betty and Mike lived in Jamesport, Missouri, until she met the love of her life Jack Elvin Brewer. They exchanged many letters while Jack was off to war in Korea and when he came home they married and moved to Chillicothe, Missouri. A few years later on September 6, 1954, Jack and Betty welcomed a daughter Teresa Faye Brewer Bradley to the family. Cooking for her family and friends was a regular occasion for Betty. If you were ever so lucky to eat one of her great meals you were blessed, she was a fantastic cook! Sunday dinners and holiday meals were very special times. Tending to her colorful flowers that surrounded the house, attending church service, visiting with friends and family and spending Monday's with her beloved Jack on his day off work were many things she looked forward to. Jack and Betty regularly took fishing trips to Canada and all over seeing new places. They truly enjoyed each other's company. Another part of Betty's life she enjoyed was being grandma. You would always find her surrounded by her six grandchildren; Scotty, Brooke, Melanie, Michael, Britt and Philip. She was a fun grandma who always made one feel loved and special in her care. There wasn't anything she would not do for her grandkids! Spending time with those she loved, made Betty the happiest. Whether it was taking the grandkids to the pool, playing and teaching piano, setting up the slip-n-slide, going to Simpson Park to play, getting ice cream and taking numerous trips to get Happy Meals in her blue 1980 Chevette, she was happy in the role of grandma. Betty truly loved God and knew scripture by heart, her faith never wavered as she loved the Lord. On May 14, 2021, Sara Beth Dixon Brewer was called home to Heaven. Upon her arrival to Heaven she will be welcomed by her loved ones including her parents Othel and Erma Dixon, husband Jack Brewer, sisters Eva Louise Dixson and Faye Dixson Reeter, brothers Don, Bill and Jean Dixson, daughter Teresa Faye Brewer Bradley and countless other friends and family. Loved ones who will miss Betty until they meet again are her son Mike and Joni Walker, special daughter Diana and Jerry Havens, step-son Danny McClure, grandson Scott and Michelle Bradley, granddaughter Brooke Bradley, granddaughter Melanie and Tyler Jordan, grandson Michael Walker, granddaughter Britt and Michael Krueger, grandson Phillip Bradley, great-grandson Devin Warren, great-grandson Eric Walker, great-granddaughter Eva Krueger and great-grandson Otto Krueger. Betty was a wonderful wife, mother, grandma, sister, aunt and friend. She will be greatly missed and forever in our hearts.
