Sandra Lee Breeding, age 78, a resident of Kansas City, Missouri, passed away on Monday, July 1, 2024, at North Kansas City Hospital, North Kansas City, Missouri.
Born August 31, 1945, in Kansas City, Missouri, she was the daughter of Howard W. and Sally Lee (Heynen) Johnston. Sandra (Sandy) was a 1964 graduate of North Kansas City High School. She was united in marriage to Richard (Alan) Breeding on January 31, 1976 in Kansas City, Missouri. He survives of the home.
Sandra and Alan were residents of Tina, Missouri for 13 years where they raised their family until moving to Kansas City, Missouri in 1989. Sandy worked for Midwest Eye Institute and then Northland Anesthesia for many years until retirement in 2017. She enjoyed bowling, playing cards, and flower gardening. She was an outstanding cook and enjoyed spending time with her family.
Sandy was preceded in death by her parents, Sally Lee (2007) and Howard W. Johnston (1992), son, Jeffery Alan Breeding (2023); and grandson, Jake Aaron Breeding (2009). Survivors include her husband, Alan of the home; two daughters, Stacy Nier of Hale, Missouri, and Johnna Woodsmall and husband, Cliff of Kansas City, Missouri; two sons, Steven Hartgrove and wife, Jayme of Kansas City, Missouri; and Michael Breeding of Kansas City, Missouri. Three granddaughters, Katie Baker (Corey), Amy Hartgrove (Christian), and Alayna Woodsmall; six grandsons, Drew Nier (Courtney), Jesse Breeding (Veronica), Johnny Breeding (Kelsey), Jordan Breeding, Dalton Hartgrove (Keiley), and Lucas Woodsmall; twelve great-grandchildren; one brother, Howard (Woody) Johnston and wife, Pat of Kansas City, Missouri; and one awesome life-long friend, Vicki Berman of Colorado.
Graveside services will be held at Rock Branch Cemetery, Tina, Missouri, on Saturday, July 13, 2024, at 10:30 a.m. Memorial contributions may be made to Rock Branch Cemetery and may be left at or mailed to Lindley Funeral Home, P.O.
