Sadie Mildred Penniston
Sadie Mildred Penniston, age 98, a resident of Chillicothe, Missouri, passed away on Wednesday, September 30, 2020, surrounded by family.
Sadie was born the daughter of Fred and Blanche (Guthrie) Corum on March 29, 1922, in Kearney, Missouri. She was united in marriage to August Mautino in 1938, in Wellington, Missouri. He preceded her in death in 1961. She was then united in marriage to Harold Penniston in 1978, in Richmond, Missouri. He preceded her in death in 2014. She attended the First Baptist Church, Chillicothe, Missouri. She was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star in Richmond, Missouri. Sadie enjoyed sewing, quilting, crafting and cooking.
Survivors include two sons, Paul Mautino and wife Linda of Chillicothe, Missouri, and August L. Mautino and wife Anita of Richmond, Missouri; three step children, Jerry Penniston and wife Tina of Richmond, Missouri, Terry Penniston of Excelsior Springs, Missouri, and Fern Young and husband Don of Excelsior Springs, Missouri; twelve grandchildren, Malissa Miller and husband Trent, Katie Cooper and husband Mitchell, Cindy Simpson and husband Steve, Eddie Mautino, Willie Mautino, Jo Ellen Compton and husband Ronald, Paula Winemiller and husband Paul, Brian Derstler, Joseph Penniston and wife Jesse, Harold Penniston and wife Melanie, Kelly Mayo and husband Eric, and Christy Riddle and husband Roger; numerous great grandchildren; one sister, Blanche Beckman of Wellington, Missouri; and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; one great grandson; five sisters; and four brothers.
Funeral services will be held at the Lindley Funeral Home, Chillicothe, Missouri, on Monday, October 5, 2020, at 11:00 a.m. A scheduled visitation will be held at the Lindley Funeral Home, Chillicothe, Missouri, one hour prior to the service at 10:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. Friends may call at the Lindley Funeral Home, Chillicothe, Missouri, on Monday, October 5, 2020, from 8:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. A private family inurnment will be held at a later date.
