Ruth Maria (Petrus) Trager Ruth Maria (Petrus) Trager, 84, of Chillicothe, Missouri, passed from this life to her eternal life on November 9, 2013, surrounded by her family. She was born on December 12, 1928, in Lamsdorf, Germany, to Helene (Figura) and Georg Petrus. She grew up in Germany with her two sisters and after WWII they settled in Munich, Germany, where she met the love of her life Robert (Bob) Trager who was stationed there by the Air Force. In 1954 she left Germany and arrived in Chillicothe and was married on February 19, 1955, where she lived until her death. She was a dedicated wife and mother and volunteered as a boyscout/girlscout leader, on the St. Columban's Parish Council, founding member of the Fall Festival, member of the Altar Society, Flower Coordinator, member of the Bishop Hogan PTO, Chillicothe Garden Club, and an avid Bridge Player. Ruth did not know a stranger and was always game for an adventure or activity with her grandkids or family or friends. She loved to travel but her greatest joy came from time spent with her family gathered at her home. She is preceded in death by her parents; her husband Robert (Bob) Trager; her grandsons, Shawn and Nathaniel Trager and Michael Daly. She is survived by her sisters, Gisela Petrus, Munich, Germany, and Sybille (Fred) Schuler of Montauk, New York; her three children, Mike Trager (Darlene Adkison) of Chillicothe, Missouri, Debbie (John) Daly of Overland Park, Kansas, and Matt (Cindi) Trager of Chillicothe, Missouri; grandchildren, Jenna Trager of Chillicothe, Chris, Anna, Megan, and Liz Daly of Overland Park, Kansas, Angel (Josh) Dennis of Chillicothe, Missouri, Audrea (Jeff) Serven of Prairie Village, Kansas; Amber Trager of Kansas City, Missouri, Randy Hapes of Chillicothe, and Aaron Trager; her great-grandchildren; Gabby and Shawn Hapes of Chillicothe, Abby and Aubrey Burton, Skyler, Ava, Lilly, and Brody Dennis all of Chillicothe and her niece Bettina Schuler of Montauk, New York. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at the St. Columban's Catholic Church, 1111 Trenton Street, Chillicothe, Missouri, on Friday, November 15, 2013, at 10:00 a.m. A Parish Rosary will be held at the Lindley Funeral Home, Chillicothe, Missouri, on Thursday, November 14, 2013, at 6:00 p.m. with a family visitation to follow until 8:00 p.m. Friends may call at the Lindley Funeral Home, Chillicothe, Missouri, on Thursday, November 14, 2013, from 12 noon until 8:00 p.m. Burial will be held at the St. Columban's Catholic Cemetery, Chillicothe, Missouri.
