Ruth Simpson Ruth Simpson, age 79, a resident of Chillicothe, Missouri, passed away on Saturday, April 8, 2017, at her residence. Ruth was born the daughter of Jessie J. and Ruby E. (Ruth) Hines on December 6, 1937, in Laclede County, Missouri. She was united in marriage to Floyd Leon Simpson on December 30, 1992, in Chillicothe, Missouri. He preceded her in death on December 27, 1995. Ruth worked in customer service at Walmart for many years. She enjoyed playing bingo, going to the casino, playing scratcher lottery tickets, putting together puzzles, crossword puzzle books, and playing solitaire. Survivors include five sons, Thomas Johnson and wife Deborah of Hughesville, Missouri, James Johnson of Kansas City, Missouri, Les Johnson and wife Waunita of Excelsior Springs, Missouri, Jeff Johnson and wife Mary Jane of Avalon, Missouri, and Joe Johnson of Chillicothe, Missouri; one stepson, Billy Graves of Trenton, Missouri; four daughters, Ann Wade and husband Terry of Excelsior Springs, Missouri, Susan Holcomb of Gallatin, Missouri, Shirley Holtzclaw and husband Wayne of Excelsior Springs, Missouri; and Barbara Silkwood and husband William "Elvis" of Polo, Missouri; one stepdaughter, Janet James of Mooresville, Missouri; thirty-four grandchildren; numerous great grandchildren; several great-great grandchildren; three brothers, Raymond Hines of Washington State, Bill Hines of Farmersville, Missouri, and Carl Hines of Missouri; five sisters, Twyla Nibarger of Meadville, Missouri, Wilma Keller of Utica, Missouri, Jeanette Lawson of Chillicothe, Missouri, Mary Venneman of Tennessee, and Alice of Indiana; several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Floyd; one son, Michael Johnson; and two brothers, Howard and David Hines. Funeral services will be held at the Lindley Funeral Home, Chillicothe, Missouri, on Tuesday, April 11, 2017, at 10:00 a.m. A scheduled family visitation will be held at the Lindley Funeral Home, Chillicothe, Missouri, on Monday, April 10, 2017, from 4:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m. Friends may call at the Lindley Funeral Home, Chillicothe, Missouri, on Monday, April 10, 2017, from 12 noon until 7:00 p.m. Burial will be held at Utica Cemetery, Utica, Missouri.
