Ruth Ann Oertwig

Ruth Ann Oertwig, age 82, a resident of Liberty, Missouri, passed away peacefully in her sleep on December 5, 2010, in Independence, Missouri. She was born October 9, 1928, in Milan, Missouri, the daughter of John Francis and Mary Elizabeth (Barclay) Gooch. She graduated from Meadville High School in 1946. She was a member of the St. John's Lutheran Church in Chillicothe. She loved to play bingo, read, and spend time with her grandchildren. Ruth is survived by sons Dean Oertwig and wife Mary Lou of Chillicothe, Missouri, and Lowell Oertwig of Kansas City, Missouri; daughters Rosalyn Ann Arrington and husband Ray of Kansas City, Missouri, Kathie Rhoades and husband Kent of Independence, Missouri, Maria Moffatt of Des Moines, Iowa, and Jo Ballard and husband Rick of Kansas City, Missouri; sister Bonnie Collier of Chillicothe, Missouri; thirteen grandchildren and nineteen great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, granddaughter Jennifer Barden, grandson Andrew Michael Heimer, and nephew Kenny Collier. Funeral services will be at Lindley Funeral Home, Chillicothe, Missouri, Thursday, December 9, 2010 at 11:00 a.m. Friends may call on Wednesday, December 8, 2010 from 12:00 noon to 9:00 p.m. Burial will be at Resthaven Memorial Gardens, Chillicothe, Missouri.
