Ruth Anne Matthes Ruth Anne Matthes, 71, of Concordia, Kansas passed away Friday, April 11, 2014, at Mount Joseph Senior Village in Concordia. Services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Thursday, April 17, 2014, at Braymer United Methodist Church in Braymer, MO. Pastor Sally DeMasters will officiate with burial following at Rosehill Cemetery in Breckenridge, MO. The family will receive visitors at the home of Ruth Anne, 1505 Olive, Concordia, KS on Tuesday, April 15, 2014 from 4-7 pm. Visitation will be held at Lindley Pitts Funeral Home in Braymer on Wednesday, April 16, 2014, from noon to 8:00 pm. Ruth Anne was born September 23, 1942 in Braymer, MO to George and Ruby (Tooter) Proctor. She married Bill Matthes of Breckenridge, MO on December 31, 1961, in Braymer, MO. Ruth Anne is survived by sons, Tal and wife Carrie, of Excelsior Springs, MO and Matt, of Tribune KS; brother Steve Proctor and wife Beth and sister, Sally Proctor, all of Braymer, MO; brother-in-laws, Jerry Matthes and wife Peggy of San Diego, CA; Derryl Matthes and sister-in-law Judy and husband Buell Applebury, all of Chillicothe, MO; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband of 52 years, Bill; parents, George and Ruby (Tooter) Proctor; one brother, Tommy Proctor; and beloved in-laws, Herman and Beulah Matthes. Ruth Anne truly enjoyed her employment at the Frank Carlson Library in Concordia. She also spent time as a preschool teacher. She loved to read and discuss books and shop for shoes and purses. Christmas with her family was her favorite holiday and her favorite color was blue. She dearly loved being a second mother to many, many other kids. She truly loved her hometown of Braymer and visiting with family and friends. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations be made to the Braymer United Methodist Church, P O Box 67, Braymer MO 64624. Arrangements are under the direction of Lindley Pitts Funeral Home, Braymer, Missouri.
