Russell Eugene Davis

Russell Eugene Davis, age 86, resident of Chillicothe, Missouri passed away on Wednesday, July 6, 2011 at Hedrick Medical Center. Russell was born son of David Daniel and Inez (Denker) Davis on July 4, 1925 in Dawn, Missouri. He graduated from Tina High School in 1943. He served in the United States Army from 1950 through 1952 and was a veteran of the Korean Conflict. On May 9, 1953 he married Bonnie Head in Chillicothe, Missouri; she survives him of the home. He worked as a Mechanic for Churchill Trucking for 30 years. Russell was a member of the American Legion, Vern R. Glick post number 25. He enjoyed hunting and fishing, all sports, and was an avid bowler for 40 years. Russell is survived by his sons, Martin R. Davis and wife Holly of Chillicothe, Missouri and Wesley R. Davis of Chillicothe, Missouri; seven grandchildren and one great-grandchild. He is preceded in death by his parents, brother Bill Davis, and sister Lois Mantzey. A funeral service will be held at Lindley Funeral Home on Saturday, July 9, 2011 at 11:00 a.m. There is no scheduled family visitation. Friends may call at Lindley Funeral Home on Friday, July 8, 2011 from 12:00 noon until 9:00 p.m. Burial is at Resthaven Memorial Gardens, Chillicothe, Missouri.
