Ruby Grace Cain Proctor, known also as "Granny", was born to Edna Pearl (Phillips) Cain and Edward Eugene Cain, December 9, 1925, in Black Oak Community near Braymer. She went to join her loved ones November 14, 2010. At a very young age her Dad gave her the nickname of Tooter, which she was known as the rest of her life. Tooter was united in marriage to George Elton Proctor, at Hardin, Missouri, January 27, 1942. This union was blessed with four children, Ruth Anne, Steven Lee, Thomas Bruce and Sally Jean. George and Tooter lived their entire married life in Braymer, except for a year spent in California 1942-1943. She worked at the Golden Age Nursing Home and she was a member of the Braymer Methodist Church. She was preceded in death by her husband George, son Tommy, and her parents Gene and Edna Cain, parents-in-law Ralph and Pauline Proctor, brother Jim Cain, sisters Dot Foreman and Shark Barnard, brother-in-law Bob Proctor and sister-in-law Sis Proctor. She leaves to mourn her passing, her children Ruth Anne, and husband Bill Matthes of Concordia, Kansas, Steve and wife Beth Proctor of Independence, Missouri, and Sally Proctor of Warrensburg, Missouri. Special nieces Janie Stevens and Patty McPheeters, and her son Blake who was always thought of as a grandson. Grandchildren surviving are Tal Matthes and wife Carrie, Matt Matthes, Angie Proctor Kincaid and husband Jimmy, Royce Proctor and wife Stacy, Cory Mayberry and wife Cindy, Cade Mayberry and Abby Simons and seven fine great grandchildren, Ashley, Drake, Luke, Tommy Mayberry, Levi and Wyatt Kincaid and Madelyn Grace Proctor. Sisters-in-law, Lena Cain and Ruth Proctor, Brothers-in-law Doyle Proctor, Bob Foreman and Lloyd Barnard, as well as several nieces and nephews. Services will be held at the United Methodist Church, Braymer, Missouri on Friday, November 19, 2010 at 10:00 a.m. Friends may call Thursday, November 18, from 12:00 noon until 8:00 p.m. at Pitts Funeral Home, Braymer, Missouri. Burial will be at Evergreen Cemetery, Braymer, Missouri. Memorial contributions may be made to the United Methodist Church in Braymer, and may be left at the Pitts Funeral Home or mailed to P.O.
