Ruby Beatrice Grimes, age 92, a resident of Chillicothe, Missouri, passed away Tuesday, January 10, 2012, in Chillicothe, Missouri at the home of her daughter, Terri Sampsel. Ruby was born the daughter of Joseph H. Dixon Sr. and Ilah L. (Humphres) Dixon on December 10, 1919 in Lock Springs, Missouri. On March 19, 1939 she was united in marriage to Roy Grimes in Lock Springs, Missouri. He preceded her in death on October 27, 1989. She worked alongside Roy for MFA Shelter Insurance and as a homemaker. Ruby was a member of the United Methodist Church of Chillicothe, Missouri, the Altar Guild, Women's Bible Study Group, Dorcos Circle of the Church, and the United Methodist Women. She was also a member of the Administrative Board, Women's Federated Culture Club, Chillicothe Garden Club, American Legion Auxiliary, Vern R. Glick Post Number 25, Hedrick Medical Center Auxiliary, and was a RSVP volunteer. Ruby is survived by two daughters, Terri Sampsel of Chillicothe, Missouri, and Nancy Funderburg and husband Rev. Denny of Nixa, Missouri; two brothers, Joseph H. Dixon Jr. and wife Helen of Jamesport, Missouri, and James Robert Dixon and wife Carolee of Lock Springs, Missouri; four grandchildren, Rev. Jeffrey Funderburg of Sioux Center, Iowa, Barry Funderburg and wife Madra of Demotte, Iowa, Jason Sampsel and wife Kristi of Ludlow, Missouri, and Mathew Sampsel and wife Kayce of Chillicothe, Missouri; ten great grandchildren, and two great great grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her parents; husband, Roy; infant daughter, Carole Diane; great grandson, Dalton Sampsel; and sister, Dortha Brown. Funeral services will be held at Lindley Funeral Home, Chillicothe, Missouri, on Thursday, January 12, 2012, at 2:00 p.m. A family visitation will be held at Lindley Funeral Home, Chillicothe, Missouri, on Thursday, January 12, 2012, from 1:00 p.m. until 2:00 p.m. Friends may call at Lindley Funeral Home, Chillicothe, Missouri, on Wednesday, January 11, 2012, from 12 noon until 9:00 p.m. Burial will be held in Lock Springs Cemetery, Lock Springs, Missouri.
