Ruby Marie Elliott, age 100, a resident of Trenton, Missouri, former resident of Laredo, Missouri, went to be with Jesus on Monday, January 27, 2025 at Liberty Hospital, Liberty, MO.
Ruby was born to Bart Shafter Shaw and Otie Elizabeth (Shearrow) Shaw in Grundy County, Missouri, on September 11, 1924. She was a 1942 graduate of McKinley High School in St. Louis, Missouri. Through her dear friend Maxine, Ruby was introduced to Maxine’s brother, Merle Elliott, and they were united in marriage on August 29, 1942, in Grundy County, Missouri. Merle preceded her in death on December 17, 1998.
Ruby was a member of the Galt Christian Church. Her relationship with Jesus and her church family were an important part of her life. Alongside her husband Merle, she served as co-custodian for the Laredo School District for many years. She appreciated traveling and was pleased to have made it to all 50 states. Ruby enjoyed playing Bingo at the local restaurant as well as playing dice and card games and doing puzzles with her family and dear friends. She was an avid fan of the Kansas City Royals and the Chiefs. Above all, her family was her greatest joy.
Survivors include one son, Rick Elliott (Carol) of Anchorage, Alaska; one daughter, Sharon Berry (Jerry) of Galt, Missouri; six grandchildren, Tammy Paulus (Bruce) of Trenton, Missouri, Tim Berry (Rita) of Bates City, Missouri, Danny Berry of Galt, Missouri, Amy Elliott Paschane (David) of Washington D.C., Eric Elliott (Ramona) of Chugiak, Alaska, and Eden Elliott of Eagle River, Alaska; seventeen great-grandchildren, Andrew Paulus (Jordyn), Nathan Paulus (Miranda), Seth Paulus (Cyle), Isaac Berry (Hallie), Megan Berry, Colt Berry, Elliott Paschane, Weston Paschane, Barrett Paschane, Evelyn Elliott-Perez, Ayasha Elliott, Emily Tejeda, Dionne Elliott, Ricky Elliott, Matthew Elliott, Zayden Elliott-Hernandez and Zayla Elliott-Hernandez; ten great-great grandchildren, Aiden, Kitley and Bennett Paulus, Ivy Grace and Micaiah Paulus, Ezrah And Saraiah Paulus, Carson Berry, Elijah Elliott-Perez and Maleija Geegan; and several in-laws, nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Merle; sisters, Yuba Clodfelter and Pauline Allison; and brother Bart Edgar Shaw.
Funeral services will be held at Galt Christian Church, Galt, Missouri, on Saturday, February 1, 2025, at 10:00 a.m. A scheduled visitation will be held at Galt Christian Church, Galt, Missouri, on Friday, January 31, 2025, from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Burial will be held at Stucker Cemetery, Laredo, Missouri, following the Saturday service. Friends may call at Lindley Funeral Home, Chillicothe, Missouri, on Friday, January 31, 2025, from 10:00 a.m. until 2:00 p.m. Memorial contributions may be made to Galt Christian Church and may be left at the church or mailed to Lindley Funeral Home, P.O.
