Rose Elizabeth "Betty Rose" Thompson, age 78, a resident of Lock Springs, Missouri, passed away on Tuesday, February 7, 2012 at her residence. Rose was born the daughter of Alfred Hobart and Leticia (Hall) Pittman on February 5, 1934 in Kansas City, Kansas. She was a resident of Lock Springs, Missouri for 18 years after moving from St. Joseph, Missouri. She was married to Bill Thompson on May 27, 1995 in Chillicothe, Missouri. He preceded her in death on February 20, 2001. She worked for Brookfield Uniforms as a secretary in Kansas City, Missouri. She is a member of the Cornerstone Church of Chillicothe, Missouri and of the Chillicothe Order of Eagles Aerie 2428. Survivors include three sons, Ron Harper and wife Sharon of Springfield, Missouri, Larry Harper of Laclede, Missouri, and John Harper of the Philippines; one daughter, Candace Childs and husband John of Albuquerque, New Mexico; two sisters, Peggie Wright of California City, California, and Donna Frizzell and husband Jewell of Chillicothe, Missouri; fifteen grandchildren; twenty-five great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her parents; husband, Bill Thompson; brother, Alfred "Bud" Pittman; three granddaughters, Kim Fields, Tracy Fields, and Brittany Harper. Services will be held on Saturday, February 11, 2012 at 10:00 a.m. at the Lindley Funeral Home, Chillicothe, Missouri. There will be a family visitation on Friday, February 10, 2012 at the Lindley Funeral Home, Chillicothe from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. Friends may call at the Lindley Funeral Home on Friday from 12 noon until 9:00 p.m. Burial will be held at a later date.
